My Reiki Journey
10 years ago, I had no idea what Reiki even was.
I first experienced Reiki around 2015, at my very first spa job. I was working at the treatment desk and had never even heard of Reiki. Gary, the Reiki Master at the Champneys I was working at, asked if I wanted a session so I could explain it properly to the guests. I assumed I was about to receive a massage, but what I got instead was something far more powerful! I still remember how I felt afterwards: deeply grounded, profoundly relaxed, like I’d just had a three-hour full body massage!
My Spiritual Awakening
In 2022, something in me started to shift, though I didn’t realise it at the time.
The day after a deep heart-to-heart with my husband about my anxiety around death, the meaning of life, and this overwhelming feeling of being lost, I randomly downloaded a book onto my Kindle. I didn’t know much about it, but something made me click! The book was Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe by Laura Lynne Jackson and within the first few pages, I felt like it was speaking directly to me.
Looking back, it didn’t feel like a coincidence at all. That book became the first breadcrumb on a path that would lead me back to myself & this was the start of my spiritual awakening and rediscovering my life's purpose.
I started deep inner work, hypnotherapy, couples therapy, individual therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, visualisation & guided mediation, I read lots of self development books. I read Lunar Living and began exploring life through the lens of moon cycles.
I also relaunched my massage business & found my purpose in life again.
It's my hope that this book will teach you how to tune in to this language and help you see light where before there was darkness, and meaning in places where before there was confusion. This knowledge can lead you to shift paths, push you towards love, help you find joy, and maybe even save your life. I want you to understand that this book has found its way into your hands for a reason. That you are reading these words right now is not an accident. Its an invitation from the Universe. Meeting Heather
Heather is a Reiki Master, a deeply intuitive holistic practitioner and a guide for women on their healing journeys. She holds regular retreats, circles and sacred gatherings that offer support, clarity and connection. Heathers work is rooted in creating safe, nurturing spaces where women can reconnect with themselves and step into their power.
I was drawn to Heather’s New Moon Retreat, which focused on the energy of the New Moon in Aquarius , a time for fresh beginnings, clear visions, and soul-led direction. Heather held a powerful women’s circle where we meditated, drew oracle cards, processed emotions, created vision boards, and connected in a safe, heart-led space.
Although I was really looking forward to the day, it was totally out of my comfort zone. I actually cried on the phone to my sister beforehand and almost didn’t go in. But she gave me some encouraging words, and I’m so glad I listened, because the experience was truly powerful!
Connecting with like-minded women and finally speaking about things I’d held in my heart for so long felt like a huge release. I also drew some incredible oracle cards that deeply resonated with me, it was like the universe had a message just for me.
Meeting Heather in person that day was the catalyst for my Reiki journey. Not long after the retreat, I contacted her for a Reiki session and from there, I began my Reiki training with her.
As I forgive myself, I leave behind all feelings of not being good enough, and I am free to love myself
No matter what happened in the past, everything can be fresh and new again. The purity of your soul is shining through everything that you encounter. You are entering a period of grace. Simply open your heart and know the best is yet to be.
How Reiki has changed me
Reiki hasn’t just supported my healing, it’s helped me become more of who I truly am.
My empathy has deepened beyond words. I feel people’s emotions so clearly now, it’s helped me hold space in ways I never thought possible.
My clairsentient gifts, the ability to feel energy have grown stronger. I often feel tingling, warmth, or magnetic pull during Reiki sessions, and I trust these sensations more and more.
I’ve developed an even deeper bond with animals. Not long after becoming attuned, I naturally shifted into becoming a vegetarian, and I know I’ll become vegan in time. My connection to the earth and all living beings has grown so much!
Reiki has become part of my everyday life, not just something I offer, but something I live. It’s helped me remember that healing is not about fixing ourselves, but returning to the truth that we are already whole.
